Yaeger CPA Review Course - Based On Personal Experience

The Yaeger CPA review course was not the only CPA review course I ever used. The previous course I used resulted in failing three sections of the CPA exam. It was due to this experience that I bought the home study course by Yaeger, which ended up helping me to succeed in all three sections with great scores.

The Yaeger website states that people who have studied the Yaeger CPA review course materials have an 88% pass rate on the CPA exam. Dr. Phil Yaeger has helped students get ready for the exam since its launch in 1977. Dr. Yaeger and his team offers something that none of their competitors are currently offering: an "Instructors Hotline" (an 800 number) that people can call to ask questions about the key concepts or about the exam in general. I myself have made plenty of calls to this number and have spoken to very patient instructors (including Dr. Yaeger himself on a few occasions) who never finished the call until all my questions were answered.

I found the lecture videos quite engaging and led by well qualified teachers. The professor would first explain key ideas, and then take candidates through multiple choice questions and examples. One bonus with the Yaeger system is that more lesson time is taken up with materials that will more likely appear on the paper. Similarly, they would advise students to spend time on doing simulation questions with high probability of being in the actual exam.

I also found the cram DVDs offered good value and accounted for a few point boost to my final exam marks. The cram DVDs vary in length (between 7 to 16 hours) but cover the essential sections thoroughly. The focus really seems to be on identifying areas you are weak at and building self-belief and knowledge to improve them. I doubt it makes much difference whichever CPA review course you have, the Yaeger cram DVDs will assist with revision for any course and give useful last-minute knowledge.

All Yaeger CPA review course materials are are reviewed on a regular basis, including lecture videos which are re-filmed every year. It means the course is pretty much up to date and you can have assurance the material is still appropriate.

The cost of the Yaeger products surpised me as it is lower than other CPA exam review courses - despite better quality than many. Overall, I am ecstatic with the Yaeger CPA review course and would not hesitate in suggesting it to anyone wanting to succeed in the CPA exam.
